A Life Group or Small Group is a smaller group of people within NLCC who meet regularly to establish a sense of community, grow spiritually, and help one another deal with the struggles of day-to-day life. Life Groups meet once a week church members' homes. Common elements of a Life Group include fellowship over food, group discussion on a spiritual topic led by the leader of the group, personal sharing, and prayer. Many Life Groups choose to get involved in various ministry projects for the church and community as well.

Why Life Groups are Important
The early church set the precedent for this type of gathering. The early Christians would meet together in one another’s homes for fellowship, to strengthen one another, and to be empowered by the Holy Spirit. Jesus worked with a small group of twelve men to train them and teach them. This interpersonal relationship model was the basis for vibrant Christian life and growth in the New Testament church.
The life group is a major way that the body of Christ is “built up until we all reach the unity in the faith and in the knowledge of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ." (Ephesians 4:13)
