The Chair Ministry's mission is to set up and tear down chairs for special events, as well as prepare for Peak of the Week and Sunday morning worship. The ministry is also responsible for supporting all activities within the sanctuary area. The men of NLCC are invited to join the ministry. Anyone interested in getting involved should contact Jim Moehle at(319) 367-2325 The mission of the Computer Ministry is to provide support for the Praise and Worship Ministry during church services on Sundays. We also do the same for the pastor's sermon. We are also available for any other special events for the church, as well as weddings. The mission of the Grounds Ministry is to glorify God. Their projects are carefully evaluated to prevent becoming a burden to those who volunteer to serve. The team meets on an annual basis and anyone is welcomed to join in service. Throughout the year the Grounds Ministry's projects include: maintaining the grounds at the old Main Street facility by means of mowing, weed control, and annual pruning. Overseeing the mowing at the new church building done by John Miller - including spring and fall. Planting trees at the new church, and organizing work parties during the fall and spring. When needed the kitchen ministry meets at the church and welcomes anyone who is interested in helping fulfill their mission to join in service. The kitchen ministry's primary activities involve kitchen clean up and maintenance, as well as Peak of the Week. They are always open to fresh ideas and suggestions that would help to improve and expand their ministry. In addition, the Library Ministry also works to provide an audio library, Bible study books, Concordances, and Bibles. The Library Ministry is responsible for many different activities including cataloging books, visiting classes and reading books to children during junior worship, and also sponsoring children's reading programs. Currently the Library Ministry is attempting to obtain a computer for use. Any NLCC adult is welcome to assist in the Library Ministry's effort. If you are interested in the Library Ministry, please contact Denise Bell at The Maintenance Ministry's mission is to ensure adequate facilities to meet our congregation's needs of both today and tomorrow. The ministry meets at the church when necessary and any member of the church is welcomed to get involved. Current projects include improvements of the interior and exterior of the pastor's houses. Anyone interested in getting involved should contact either: Joel Prottsman - (319) 367-7799 - prottjdp@iowatelecom.net The goal of the Missions Ministry team at NLCC is to assist in bringing the world to a knowledge of and belief in Christ through financial, prayerful, and physical support of missions which share, encourage, and promote the Biblical teachings that are pleasing to God and fundamental to NLCC. The team meets on a quarterly basis, with current meeting dates and times being flexible. The team operates on the basis of executing an annual operating plan and budget. This involves maintaining ongoing support and communication with established missions, researching/evaluating requests for additional support to new missions, and assessing needs for establishing new, NLCC-founded mission projects. The NLCC Prayer Ministry Team exists to support the staff, the ministries of NLCC, and the congregation with prayer and, and to foster a spirit of prayer in the Body, so that NLCC delights God's heart by becoming a "House Of Prayer", and to provide opportunities for the Body to pray together. The Sign Language Ministry at NLCC seeks to soften the harden hearts of the hearing. The team meets Monday nights at 7 pm. Anyone interested in learning sign is invited to join the team. The Sign team serves as an outreach of NLCC, being involved in many community activities. The team shares sign language with youth classes, supports deaf community activities, and accepts invitations from teachers in community schools. In addition, interpretive sign is offered during worship and classes are offered on Monday evenings.
